On July 10th, 2026 at approximately 4:11 pm, Sergeant Michael Donals conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Plank Road in the Town of Livonia after the Sheriff’s Office 911 Center received a traffic complaint concerning a vehicle being operated in an erratic fashion.
Sergeant Donals made contact with the operator of the vehicle, who was identified as 34-year-old Tek Adhikari of Lancaster PA. During the initial encounter with Adhikari, the Sergeant suspected that he was possibly under the influence of alcohol. Deputy Caleb Nellis of the Sheriff’s Office STOP DWI Unit responded to the scene and conducted a DWI investigation, which included the performance of standardized field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the roadside investigation, Adhikari was taken into custody for DWI.
Adhikari was offered a breathalyzer to determine his blood alcohol content (BAC) and Adhikari did refuse to submit to a chemical breath test.
During the investigation it was found that Adhikari did have a prior conviction for DWI in 2022, making this arrest a felony.
Adhikari was charged with felony Driving While Intoxicated Refusal and violations of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Adhikari was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention. He was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Livonia Justice Chichester. The Judge did release Adhikari on his own recognizance, as the offenses do not qualify for bail under the NYS Bail Reform Act.The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Adhikari at the court arraignment for his defense. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was notified and did appear to represent the People.
