FELONY ARREST IN THE TOWN OF YORK

YORK - Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a York resident on felony charges following an investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

On June 7th, 2026 at approximately 12:45 pm, Deputies responded to a residence in the Town of York for the report of a possible Order of Protection violation.

It is alleged through the investigation that 50-year-old Brian Jarvis of York violated a complete stay away Order of Protection by being on a property occupied by the individual who is the protected party of the court order.  A criminal history check showed that Jarvis had been previously convicted of Criminal Contempt in the First Degree in 2022, making this arrest a felony.

Jarvis was arrested by Deputy Danielle Fensken and charged with felony Criminal Contempt in the First Degree.

Jarvis was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention.  Jarvis was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Caledonia Justice Mackay.  The Judge did remand Jarvis to the custody of the Sheriff due to him having two or more prior felony convictions.

The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Jarvis at the court arraignment for his defense.  The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was also present to represent the People.
