The Marine Patrol is overseen by the Patrol Captain. The Marine Patrol is led by seasonal Sergeant Michael Miller and several part-time members. The Marine Patrol is a visible presence on Conesus Lake, enforcing New York State Navigation and Penal Law, while ensuring the safety and well-being of lake residents, boaters, swimmers and visitors.

From Memorial Day through Labor Day each year the Marine Patrol operates two patrol vessels and provides a police presence at Long Point and Sand Point substations on Conesus Lake.

The marine patrol has countless positive interactions between our members and those enjoying the lake. Loaner “life vests” are provided to boaters and paddle crafters at times so that they can safely continue their day without having their voyage terminated. Boater safety handbooks are handed out as needed as well.
