ADDITIONAL DRUG TASK FORCE ARREST IN THE TOWN OF PORTAGE

The Livingston County Drug Task Force reports the arrest of an additional individual following an investigation into crack cocaine sales in the Town of Portage.

 

Amanda Hanley, age 39, from Nunda, NY was arrested by members of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office. The arrest was completed after a search warrant was executed on a residence located in the Town of Portage by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and additional investigation was completed.

 

Hanley was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree (a class A-2 felony) and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (class B felonies).

 

The arrest culminated from an investigation into the sale of crack cocaine in the Town of Portage. The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and the Livingston County Drug Task Force additionally located over 4 pounds of methamphetamine at a secondary search in the Village of Nunda. The investigation was handled by the Livingston County Drug Task Force.

 

Hanley was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention.

 

Hanley was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Village of Geneseo Justice Bushnell.  The Judge did release Hanley on her own recognizance as the charges did not qualify for bail under the NYS Justice Reform Act.

 

The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Hanley at the court arraignment for her defense. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was notified and also appeared to represent the People.

 

The Livingston County Drug Task Force is comprised of members of the following agencies, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, the Avon Police Department, the Caledonia Police Department, the Geneseo Police Department, the Dansville Police Department, the Mount Morris Police Department, the Nunda Police Department, the State University of Police at Geneseo, and the Livingston County District Attorney’s Office.
