DRUG TASK FORCE ARREST IN THE TOWN OF PORTAGE

John Moore, age 41, from Rochester, NY, Anthony Martin, age 27, from Rochester, NY, and Carrie Drechsel, age 42, from Mount Morris, NY were arrested on March 19th, 2026 by members of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office. The arrests were completed after a search warrant was executed on a residence located in the Town of Portage by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team.
Moore was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree (a class A-2 felony), three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (class B felonies), Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree (a class E felony), Tampering with Physical Evidence (a class E felony), and two counts of Criminally Using Drug paraphernalia in the Second Degree (class A misdemeanors).
Martin was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (a class B felony), one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree (a class C felony), and Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree (a class E felony).
Drechsel was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (a class B felony) and one count of Tampering with Physical Evidence (a class E felony).
These arrests culminated from an investigation into the sale of crack cocaine in the Town of Portage. The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and the Livingston County Drug Task Force additionally located over 4 pounds of methamphetamine at a secondary search in the Village of Nunda. The investigation was handled by the Livingston County Drug Task Force.
All defendants were turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
All defendants were later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Leicester Justice Scofield. The Judge did remand Moore to the custody of the Sheriff on No Bail, due to having five prior felony convictions. Both Martin and Drechsel were released on their own recognizance as their charges did not qualify for bail under the NYS Justice Reform Act.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented all defendants at their court arraignment for their defenses. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was notified and did appear to represent the People.
The Livingston County Drug Task Force is comprised of members of the following agencies, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, the Avon Police Department, the Caledonia Police Department, the Geneseo Police Department, the Dansville Police Department, the Mount Morris Police Department, the Nunda Police Department, the State University of Police at Geneseo, and the Livingston County District Attorney’s Office.
