FELONY ARREST IN THE TOWN OF AVON

AVON - Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Monroe County resident on felony charges following a traffic stop in the Town of Avon.

On June 10th, 2026 at approximately 8:01 pm, Investigator Shawn Whitford was assigned to the Sheriff’s Office Highway Patrol Unit when he conducted a traffic stop on Interstate Drive in the Town of Avon for a violation of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law. 

Contact was made with the operator, who was identified as 29-year-old Jonathan Narvaez-Martinez of Rochester, NY.  During the investigative portion of the traffic stop, it was discovered that Narvaez-Martinez was operating the vehicle while having a revoked NYS Driver’s License.  Narvaez-Martinez’s license was revoked a total of fifty-four times.

Investigator Whitford arrested Narvaez-Martinez and charged him with felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree and violations of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Narvaez-Martinez was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing.  After processing, Narvaez was issued an appearance ticket and will return to Avon Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
