FELONY ARREST IN THE TOWN OF LIMA

LIMA - Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Lima resident on felony and misdemeanor charges following an investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

On September 5th, 2026 at approximately 7:10 pm Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence in the Town of Lima for the report of an Order of Protection that had been violated.

It is alleged through the investigation that 45-year-old Bill Weston, of Lima NY, made contact with a person for whom an Order of Protection had been issued, prohibiting such contact. 

On September 6th, 2026, Weston was located and arrested by Sergeant Mike Donals.  Weston was charged with felony Aggravated Family Offense and misdemeanor Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree.

Weston was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention.  He was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Village of Geneseo Justice Bushnell.  The District Attorney’s Office recommended that Weston be held on $10,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.  The Judge did remand Weston to the Custody of the Sheriff on $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond.The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Weston at the court arraignment for his defense. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was notified and did also appear to represent the People.

Assisting with the investigation were members of the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations Division.
