FELONY ARREST IN THE TOWN OF LIVONIA

On March 18th, 2026, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office commenced an investigation into a reported possible Grand Larceny. It is alleged through the investigation that the suspect, 19-year-old Matthew Dennis of Livonia used mobile deposit, multiple times, to deposit the same checks into two separate accounts. The results of depositing the same checks more than once showed that Dennis had stolen $1,288.29 from a previous employer.
On April 15th, 2026, Dennis was located by Investigator Martin Herkimer and Deputy Evan Wolfanger and taken into custody at his residence. Dennis was charged with felony Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree.
Dennis was transported to the Livingston County Jail where he was turned over to Central Booking Deputies for arrest processing. After processing, Dennis was later released with an appearance ticket and will appear in the Town of Livonia Court at a later date.
Assisting with the investigation were members of the Criminal Investigations Division, the Patrol Division and the Livingston County District Attorney’s Office.
