MT. MORRIS - Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Livonia resident on felony Criminal Mischief charges following an investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

On June 23rd, 2026 at approximately 2:50 pm, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Creek Road in the Town of Mt. Morris for the report of a domestic incident that had taken place.  Deputies arrived on scene and met with the Victim who advised that she had been in a verbal and physical argument with the suspect, identified as 41-year-old Matthew Keen of Livonia.  During the argument, it is alleged that Keen intentionally damaged property inside the residence and also caused damage to a vehicle.

Sergeant Mike Donals located and arrested Keen, charging him with felony Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree and Harassment in the Second Degree.

Keen was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention.  Keen was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Mt. Morris Justice Finnigan.  The Judge did release Keen on his own recognizance as the offenses do not qualify for bail under the NYS Bail Reform Act.

The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Keen at the court arraignment for his defense.  The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was also present to represent the people.

Assisting with the investigation were members of the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations Division.
