NORTH DANSVILLE- Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Livingston County resident on Grand Larceny charges following an investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

On July 26th 2024, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Mark’s Trailer Court in the Town of North Dansville for the report of a stolen four-wheeler.

It is alleged through the investigation that 36-year-old Ethan Chemelli of Portage stole a four-wheeler from a residence.

On March 24th 2026, Chemelli was arrested and charged with felony Grand Larceny in the Third Degree and Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree.

Chemelli was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Village of Geneseo Justice Bushnell. The Judge did release Chemelli on his own recognizance, as the offense did not qualify for bail under the NYS Bail Reform Act.

The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Chemelli at the court arraignment for his defense. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was also present to represent the People.

Additional arrests regarding this investigation have already been made by members of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
