FELONY ARREST IN THE TOWN OF NORTH DANSVILLE

On April 11th, 2026 at approximately 2:15 am, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Vista Hill Road in the Town of North Dansville for the reported domestic incident with one individual involved possibly possessing a firearm. Upon arrival Deputies made contact with the parties involved.
It is alleged through the investigation that 30-year-old Hunter Rauber had become involved in a domestic incident with two other individuals. During the incident Rauber did damage a vehicle and was in possession of a firearm. Deputies arrested and charged Rauber with felony Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree and two counts of misdemeanor Menacing in the Second Degree.
Rauber was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention. He was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Springwater Justice Johnson. The Judge did release Rauber on his own recognizance as the charges do not qualify for bail under the NYS Bail Reform Act.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Rauber at the court arraignment for his defense. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was also present to represent the People.
Handling the investigation for the Sheriff’s Office were members of the Patrol Division, the Criminal Investigations Division and the Forensic Identification Unit.
