On May 21st, 2026 at approximately 5:30 pm, Deputy Jerry Pilkenton conducted a traffic stop on State Route 436 in the Town of Portage after observing a violation of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law. Contact was made with the operator, who was identified as 46-year-old Joshua Dash of Olean NY. There was also a female passenger in the vehicle.
During the roadside investigation, it was discovered that there is a complete stay away Order of Protection in place against Dash with the female passenger being the protected party. A criminal history check of Dash showed that he had also been previously convicted of Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree in 2025.
Dash was arrested and charged with felony Aggravated Family Offense, Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree and violations of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.Â
Dash was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention. He was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Lima Justice Harris. The Judge did release Dash on his own recognizance as the charges do not qualify for bail under the NYS Bail Reform Act.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Dash at the court arraignment for his defense. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was also present to represent the People.
