FELONY ARREST IN THE VILLAGE OF LIMA

On July 5th, 2026, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence on Rochester Street in Lima for the report of a domestic dispute in progress.
Deputies arrived and made contact with the victim who advised that the suspect, identified as 45-year-old John Rauchbauer had been in a verbal argument with the Victim and it is alleged that Rauchbauer then damaged a vehicle during the incident.
Rauchbauer was ultimately arrested and charged with felony Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree.
Rauchbauer was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention. Rauchbauer was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Livonia Justice Chichester. The Judge did release Rauchbauer on his own recognizance as the offense does not qualify for bail under the NYS Bail Reform Act.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Rauchbauer at the court arraignment for his defense. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was also present to represent the People.Â
Assisting with the investigation for the Sheriff’s Office were members of the Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Division and the Forensic Identification Unit.
