Effective January 28, 2026, the Livingston County Board of Supervisors established Local Law No. 1-2026, known as the Animal Abuser Registry. This law includes an online registry to identify individuals residing in Livingston County who have been convicted of animal abuse crimes in order to prevent these individuals from adopting, working with, purchasing or otherwise obtaining animals.
