FELONY ARREST IN THE VILLAGE OF GENESEO

On August 6th, 2026, Sheriff’s Investigators arrested 29-year-old, Kyle Webster on two counts of felony Failure to Register and Verify as a New York State Registered Sex Offender.
It is alleged through the investigation that Webster, who is a level (3) New York State Registered Sex Offender, failed to report and register two internet identifiers he had been actively using to the local law enforcement agency having jurisdiction as required by law. It was further discovered that Webster had a previous conviction for Failure to Register and Verify as a Sex Offender in New York State, which makes this a Class D Felony.
The NYS Corrections Law section 168-F (4) states: Any sex offender shall register with the division no later than ten calendar days after any change of address, internet accounts with internet access providers belonging to such offender, internet identifiers that such offender uses, or his or her status of enrollment, attendance, employment or residence at any institution of higher education.
Webster, who is also on Parole with NYSDOCCS stemming from a previous Failure to Register and Verify as a Sex Offender conviction, was arrested in Central Booking at the Livingston County Jail, where he was currently being held on Violation of Parole. Webster was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Lima Justice Huff. The Judge did remand Webster into the Custody of the Sheriff without the possibility of bail, due to his previous felony convictions.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Webster at the court arraignment for his defense. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was present to represent the People.
Assisting with the investigation was Parole Officers from the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
