On January 26th, 2023, Sheriff’s Office Investigators commenced an investigation into a possible felony Bail Jumping in the Second Degree. It is alleged through the investigation that the suspect, 41-year-old Robyn Hitchcock of Rochester, failed to appear at her scheduled court appearance in Groveland Town Court on January 3rd, 2023, or voluntarily within thirty days thereafter to answer her original charges for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third and Fifth Degree both Class B and D Felonies. After the charges were filed, Town of Groveland Justice Love issued warrants in January of 2023 for Hitchcock’s arrest as her whereabouts were unknown at that time.
On May 5th, 2026, Hitchcock was located in the Town of Irondequoit by the Irondequoit Police Department and was taken into custody without incident. Hitchcock was transported to Livingston County where she was turned over to Sheriff’s Deputies and was later turned over to Central Booking Deputies for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
While at the Livingston County Jail, Booking Deputies located a small wax bag hidden under her clothing which contained a white powdery substance. Sheriff’s Investigators responded to the Livingston County Jail and tested the substance, which tested positive for Fentanyl. Hitchcock was additionally charged with felony Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree and misdemeanor Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.
Hitchcock was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Conesus Justice Coyne. The District Attorney’s Office recommended that bail be set at $5,000 cash or $25,00 bond. The Judge did remand Hitchcock to the custody of the Sheriff on $750.00 cash bail or $1,500.00 partially secured bond for the charge of Bail Jumping in the Second Degree. The Judge did set nominal bail on the original felony drug charges and the additional charges for Promoting Prison Contraband.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Hitchcock at the court arraignment for her defense. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office also appeared to represent the People.
Assisting with the investigation were members of the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, Patrol Division, and Jail Division. Also assisting with the Investigation was the Irondequoit Police Department.
