On May 22nd, 2026 at approximately 11:20 pm, Sheriff’s Deputy Jerry Pilkenton was assigned to the Sheriff’s Office Highway Patrol Unit when he conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Lakeville Road in the Town of Geneseo after observing a violation of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.Â
Contact was made with the operator, who was identified as 29-year-old Juan Javier of Castile. During the initial encounter with Javier, the Deputy observed an electric stun gun inside the vehicle. It was found that Javier did have a previous conviction for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in 2023, making this arrest a felony.
Deputy Pilkenton arrested Javier and charged him with felony Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree and violations of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Javier was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention. Javier was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Lima Justice Harris. The District Attorney’s Office recommended bail be set at $2,000 cash or $4,000 bond. The Judge did remand Javier to the custody of the Sheriff and set bail at $1,000 cash or $5,000 bond.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Javier at the court arraignment for his defense. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was also present to represent the People.
