FELONY ARREST IN THE TOWN OF LEICESTER
On September 27th, 2026, at approximately 12:00 pm, Sheriff’s Deputy Dylan Bowser conducted a traffic stop on York Road in the Town of Leicester, and made contact with the operator, who was identified as 50-year-old Mushtaq Al Jenahi of Amherst NY.
During the roadside investigation, it was confirmed that there was a complete stay away Order of Protection in place against Al Jenahi, protecting two of the passengers inside the vehicle. A review of Al Jenahi’s criminal history showed that he had a previous conviction of Criminal Contempt within the preceding five years, making this arrest a felony. Al Jenahi was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of felony Aggravated Family Offense and two counts of misdemeanor Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree.
Al Jenahi was transported to the Livingston County Jail and turned over to Booking Deputies to be processed and held for arraignment. Al Jenahi was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) before Town of York Justice Porter. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office recommended that Al Jenahi be held on $2,500.00 cash / credit or $5,000.00 secured bond. The Judge did remand Al Jenahi to the Custody of the Sheriff on the recommended bail.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Al Jenahi at the arraignment for his defense. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was also present at the arraignment to represent the People.
