FELONY ARREST IN THE VILLAGE OF GENESEO

On September 3rd, 2026 at approximately 3:45 pm, Livingston County Sheriff’s Sgt. Robert Holt was in the Government Center parking lot in the Village of Geneseo, when he observed a vehicle operating erratically.
Sergeant Holt made contact with the operator of the vehicle, who was identified as 39-year-old Andrew Wilcox. During the initial encounter, the Sergeant observed indicators that Wilcox was intoxicated. Deputy Dylan Bowser responded to the scene and conducted a DWI Investigation, which included the performance of standardized field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the investigation, Wilcox was taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated.
Wilcox was offered a chemical breath test to determine his Blood Alcohol Content (BAC). Wilcox ultimately submitted to the chemical test, which revealed that his BAC was .11%.
A records check revealed that Wilcox had a previous conviction for Driving While Intoxicated in 2025, making this arrest a felony. Wilcox was charged with felony Driving While Intoxicated and violations of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Wilcox was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention. Wilcox was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LCCAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Village of Geneseo Justice Bushnell. The Judge did remand Wilcox to the Custody of the Sheriff due to Wilcox having two prior felony convictions.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Wilcox at the court arraignment for his defense. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was also present to represent the People.
