FELONY ARREST IN THE VILLAGE OF GENESEO

GENESEO - Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Geneseo resident on felony charges following an investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

On May 8th, 2026 at approximately 10:06 am, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence in the Village of Geneseo for the reported domestic incident.

It is alleged through the incident that 29-year-old Bonnie Montesano of Geneseo had gotten into a physical altercation with a male in the residence.  The alleged acts did occur while an active Order of Protection was in place, protecting the male individual from Montesano, making this arrest a felony.

Montesano was arrested by Sheriff’s Deputy Cheyenne Masiello and charged with felony Criminal Contempt in the First Degree and violation Harassment in the Second Degree.

Montesano was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention.  Montesano was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Conesus Justice Coyne.  The District Attorney’s Office recommended pre-trial release and the Judge did release Montesano on the recommendation with a return court date set for the Village of Geneseo Court.

The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Montesano at the court arraignment for her defense.  The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was also present to represent the People.
