MOUNT MORRIS – Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Nassau County resident on felony Criminal Mischief charges following an investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

On April 12th, 2026 at approximately 10:48 am, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of State Route 63 and 408 for the reported traffic complaint involving “road rage”.  It was reported that an occupant from one vehicle had gotten out of their vehicle that was stopped at an intersection and caused damage to another vehicle that was also stopped.  It was further reported that the individual who had caused damage had gotten back into a vehicle and left the area.

The New York State Police later located the suspect vehicle on Interstate 390 and conducted a traffic stop.  Deputies responded and made contact with 43-year-old Frank Sforza of Massapequa NY.  Sforza was taken into custody by Deputy Alyssa Cornelius and charged with felony Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree and misdemeanor Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Sforza was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing.

Sforza was processed and released with an appearance ticket to return to the Village of Mt. Morris Court at a later date.

Assisting with the investigation were the New York State Police and the Sheriff’s Office Forensic Identification Unit.
