FELONY ARREST IN THE TOWN OF AVON

On June 16th, 2026 at approximately 9:21 pm, Deputy Jerry Pilkenton was assigned to the Sheriff’s Office Highway Patrol Unit when he observed a vehicle operating south in Interstate 390 in violation of sections of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law. The Deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the operator as 44-year-old Thomas Lee of Wellsville. There were three passengers in the vehicle who were identified as 42-year-old Amanda Cheek of Wellsville NY, 41-year-old DeSean Kelly of Rochester NY and 38-year-old Kerri Cobb, also of Wellsville NY.
The Deputy suspected that there was drug activity in the vehicle and conducted a roadside drug investigation. As a result of the investigation, all four occupants of the vehicle were found to be in possession of crack cocaine and fentanyl.
Cheek was arrested and charged with three counts of felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree.
Lee was charged with misdemeanor Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and violations of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Kelly was charged with misdemeanor Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.
Cobb was charged with misdemeanor Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree.
Lee, Kelly and Cobb were all processed at the Livingston County Jail and released with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Avon Court.
Cheek was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention. Cheek was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Geneseo Justice Houston. The Judge did release Cheek on her own recognizance as the offenses do not qualify for bail under the NYS Bail Reform Act.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Cheek at the court arraignment for her defense. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was also present to represent the People.
Assisting with the investigation were multiple members of the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division.
