GENESEO - Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Monroe County resident on felony charges following a traffic stop on Lakeville Road in the Town of Geneseo.

On May 10th, 2026 at approximately 1:00 am, Deputy Caleb Nellis was assigned to the Sheriff’s Office STOP DWI Unit when he conducted a traffic stop on Lakeville Road in the Village of Geneseo after observing a violation of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.  Contact was made with the operator, who was identified as 29-year-old Brittany Hollaert of Rochester.  The Deputy suspected that Hollaert was possibly impaired and requested that she exit the vehicle so a DWI investigation could be conducted.

Hollaert did refuse to exit the vehicle, and drove away, fleeing the scene of the traffic stop.  Multiple Deputies responded to the area, and were able to deploy stop sticks, successfully flattening all four tires on the vehicle.  The vehicle did come to a stop on Lakeville Road in the area of exit eight, and a passenger, identified as 33-year-old Masure Evans of Rochester exited the vehicle and was taken into custody.  Evans was found to have been in possession of cocaine and methamphetamine.  Hollaert and another passenger in the vehicle were also taken into custody.

Evans was ultimately charged with felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, felony Tampering with Physical Evidence, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree.

Hollaert was charged with DWAI Drugs, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Second Degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree, Criminal Impersonation and violations of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.  Hollaert was processed at the Livingston County Jail and released with an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Geneseo Court.

The additional passenger in the vehicle was identified as 55-year-old Phillip Mayberry of Henrietta.  Mayberry was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and also released with an appearance ticket.

Evans was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention.  Evans was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Conesus Justice Coyne.  The Judge did remand Evans to the custody of the Sheriff without the possibility of bail due to him having two or more prior felony convictions.

The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Evans at the court arraignment for his defense.  The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was also present to represent the People.

Assisting with the investigation were members of the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Division and the Forensic Identification Unit.  The Geneseo Police Department also assisted.
