On July 4th, 2026 at approximately 1:22 pm, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence on West Lake Road in the Town of Geneseo for the reported domestic incident.
It is alleged through the investigation that 44-year-old David Skeldon of Fairport had gotten into a physical altercation with an individual while at the residence. The alleged acts did occur while an active “Refrain From” Order of Protection was in place, protecting the individual from Skeldon, making this arrest a felony.
Sheriff’s Deputy Matthew Bean arrested Skeldon and charged him with felony Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, three counts of misdemeanor Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Harassment in the Second Degree.
Skeldon was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention. Skeldon was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Lima Justice Huff. The District Attorney’s Office recommended that Skeldon be released upon his own recognizance with a “Stay Away” Order of Protection issued. The Judge did follow the recommendation and released Skeldon on his own recognizance with a new “Stay Away” Order of Protection issued.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Skeldon at the court arraignment for his defense. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was also present to represent the People.
