FELONY ARREST IN THE VILLAGE OF GENESEO

GENESEO - Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Village of Geneseo resident on felony charges following an investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

On July 8th, 2026, The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division began an investigation into the report of possible criminal activity associated with 34-year-old Leslie Gminski of Geneseo.  The investigation did lead Investigators to a residence in Geneseo, and during the investigation Gminski was found to be in possession of an illegal weapon.

Sheriff’s Investigator Ross Gerace arrested Gminski and charged him with felony Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree.

Gminski was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention.  Gminski was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Livonia Justice Chichester.  The District Attorney’s Office recommended that Gminski be held without the possibility of bail.  The Judge did remand Gminski to the Custody of the Sheriff where he would be held without bail.

The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Gminski at the court arraignment for his defense.  The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was also present to represent the People.
